MOSEGOR Novartis
Drug Category: Appetite stimulant/vitamin
Contents: Syp: Per 10ml: Pizotifen (as hydrogen maleate) 0.5 mg. Tabs: Pizotifen (as hydrogen maleate) 0.5mg;
sugar-coated tabs.
Mosegor V Syp: Per 5ml: Pizotifen (as hydrogen maleate) 0.25mg, thiamine HCI 0.875mg, ribofia-vin phosphate 1.31mg, pyridoxine HCI 0.77mg, nicotinamide 5.25mg.
Indications: Anorexia in underweight patients, mood elevation in the elderly, prophylactic (interval) treatment of migraine.
Dosage: Children: 2-6 years, 0.25-0.5mg of pizo-tifen daily; 6-12 years, 0.5-1 mg of pizotifen daily in 2 or 3 divided doses. Average maintenance doses, 0.025mg(of pizotifen)/kg body-wt daily. Adults: Starting with 0.5mg (of pizotifen) per day, may be increased 'to 0.5mg (of pizotifen) 3 times a day.
Migraine prophylaxis: Adults: Starting with 0.5mg of pizotifen daily, should be increased progressively, average mintenance dose 1.5mg of pizotifen daily in a single or in divided doses. In refractory cases the dosage may be increased to 3-4.5mg of pizotifen daily, taken in 3 divided doses
Precautions: Patients should be warned of its possible sedative effects. Pregnancy, Nursing mothers. Due to slight anticholinergic effect of pizotifen caution in patients with narrow angle glaucoma or urinary retention.
Interactions: Sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines including certain common cold preps, alcohol.
Adverse effects: Sedation, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation.

Drug Category: Non-steroidal respiratory anti-inflammatory.
Generic Name: Ketotifen.
Contents: Syp: Per ml: Ketotifen 0.2mg.Tabs: Ketotifen 1mg.
Indications: Prophylaxis of bronchial asthma.
Dosage: Adults: 1-2mg twice daily with food. Children: Under 2 years, not recommended; over 2
years, 1mg twice daily with food.
Interactions: Alcohol, CNS depressants, oral hypoglycaemics.
